in Upcoming Events

“In the span of 6 short hours, people can try on (and discard) product ideas, business partners, and specific roles within a team. Interactions like this are how almost all great startups are born– and Six Hour Startup
has bottled it up and delivers it in a fun package. There’s nothing else like it in Seattle.” Tony Wright, founder Rescuetime.com

Six Hour Startup is a bi-monthly event where we try to build a new product in the course of Six Hours. We also have an annual conference which focuses on the fundamentals of building a company. Check out our Frequently Asked Question page for more details. link

Our next event is going to be in March and its focus is going to be on finding co-founders for a new company.

TiE Seattle proudly presents…
Mobile Payment Systems
New Opportunities and Fixing Current Revenue Leakage
November, 3rd 2009; 6-9 PM
Bellevue City Hall, Bellevue, WA
[TiE Members: $20, Others: $35]

A new analysis of the mobile payments opportunity forecasts that the gross transaction value of payments made via mobile phone for digital goods (such as music, tickets and games) and physical goods (typically gifts and books) will exceed $300 billion globally by 2013. There is significant and immediate opportunity for mobile payment services, systems, software and supporting services to underpin the processing of this value of payment transactions by 2013.

It is also known to those who are already working with existing mobile payment systems that you can potentially lose up to 50% of your ‘certain’ revenue if the plumbing is incorrect. And sometimes, the systems are just not capable of meeting your requirements.

So, we are bringing together experts in this field to share their perspective and opportunities they are tapping into to be a success. In this panel discussion, we will cover the following aspects of mobile payment systems:
• State of the current mobile payment systems
• Challenges faced by entrepreneurs, businesses, carriers, and payment system vendors
• New mobile payment solutions
• Opportunities to benefit from the $300 billion windfall

Come join us for this discussion, which comes after the successful mobile event organized on 9th July 2009.

Panelists
Ron Hirson, Product Management & Marketing, Boku
Andy Kleitsch, CEO & Founder, Billing Revolution
And more to come…watch out!!!
